do you know....
Do you know what maple syrup is? I mean I know what to DO with it. But what IS maple syrup anyhow? And where does it come from? Maple syrup is made from a slightly sweet liquid, called sap. It comes from inside of a suger maple trees. The sap runs through the inside of the tree, just beneath the bark, in late winter or early spring when the night are below freezing and the days are mild.

There is a native american legend about the discovery of maple syrup.........
Iroquois Chief , Woksis, pulled his tomahawk out of a suger maple tree were he had thrown it the day bofore. The weather got warmer that day, and sap started to flow out of the cut tree. It accidentally dripped into a trough near the tree trunk. Woksis' wife went out looking for water to cook their supper in. She found the trough filled with sap. It looked just like water, so she decided to use it. Woksis' wife boiled their meat in the sugary liquid. It filled the woods with the most wonderful maple smell, and Woksis couldn't wait to get home to eat his dinner. AND DID HE LIKE IT!! so they used it for some other stuff like food and now like umm... 21 century they use metal buckets and tap thingies then they boil it and all that and 43 gallons (163.4 liters) of sap will make one gallon(3.8 liters) of syrup AND REMEBER , never teach a chicken to ride a bike unless the monkeys are eating thier bananas in pine trees
